WHAT IS A TYPE I EXHAUST SYSTEM?
A Type I Exhaust System consists of a hood or hoods, the connecting ductwork (Chimneys) leading to the fan, and the fan unit itself. Often the fan unit is on the roof of the building with ductwork running through the attic. A proper cleaning service requires the cleaning of the entire system.
WHY CLEAN A TYPE I EXHAUST SYSTEM?
Type I Exhaust Systems are required to be cleaned in the State of Nevada to reduce the risk of fire in your facility. Flammable materials collect in these systems and must be routinely removed to reduce the possibility of fire. Additionally, your indoor air quality will be greatly improved when your system is cleaned by allowing proper air flow in your system. Problems such as worn fan belts or leaks in your grease duct can be identified during the cleaning process to help prevent unexpected downtime of your cook line.
HOW CAN I BE SURE THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS BEING CLEANED?
One of the biggest differences in cleaning services is what you are receiving for your service dollars. Nevada State Law requires that your system is cleaned in accordance to NFPA 96 standards, and that includes the entire system end to end.

HOW DOES WESTERN COMMERCIAL SERVICES PROTECT MY KITCHEN?:
Your kitchen will be protected by custom created plastic sheeting funnels and protective layers. Western Commercial always uses brand new plastic sheeting for each client to ensure you have a cleaner kitchen when Western Commercial Services is finished cleaning your exhaust system.
HOW DOES WESTERN COMMERCIAL SERVICES SET A PRICE TO CLEAN MY SYSTEM?
Every Type I Exhaust System is designed differently. At Western Commercial Services, we always provide an estimate by a Certified Exhaust System Inspector. Be cautious of providers who offer to provide estimates based on the length of your hood or type of cooking! The cost of cleaning a Type I exhaust system properly can be established only by personally inspecting your system for design, proper access, and current condition.
